What is GEMBA?

The Gemba Board is a visual tool for tracking the status of metrics/ quality drivers in the workplace.

What does this mean?

When anyone is walking by the board, they should not have any questions about where your team is at.
They should see:

  • Did we meet goals today?

  • Are there any safety events?

How does GEMBA work?

  1. Meetings are held daily

  2. They are 15 minutes long

    • Set a timer to ensure this 15-minute timeline is kept

  3. Never canceled

    • Have a backup facilitator identified in case of unexpected absence

  4. Speak about the same topics daily until production is met, then you can customize

    • Metrics (Production)
